Glock Guardian Angel (AIWB) Appendix Carry Holster

When carrying a gun, comfort is essential because if it isn’t comfortable, then you probably are not going to wear it. The Guardian Angel AIWB / IWB concealed carry gun kydex  holster was designed for inside the pants wear. You need a holster that is built for everyday carry and the abuse that comes with it. Functionality is critical when selecting a good kydex holster, and this rig provides you with an easy access extra mag without having to wear another mag pouch elsewhere. The all-in-one holster and mag pouch design is beneficial because you do not have to worry about forgetting something when strapping your gear on when you leave the house.

A quality appendix kydex holster will have adjustable retention on your gun and on the extra mag. No holster maker should be the one to dictate the amount of retention that is best for you. Any holster that does not offer adjustable retention on either or both of these components is in our opinion not a quality holster.

EASE OF ACCESS

Why consider an appendix carry holster? First of all, is ease of access of your tool. By design, this is the fastest mode of carry because the gun is facing the potential threat and you can get your muzzle on target very quickly. The dangers of appendix carry should be obvious. That is, you are pointing your muzzle at body parts that you may not want to. Not to mention, you might be carrying your gun in a position that points the muzzle directly at your femoral artery. However, in order to maintain self-preservation, you must be well disciplined with proper trigger finger placement in your training. One must be able to demonstrate proper safety when holstering and unholstering your firearm.  

Furthermore, if you are sitting in a chair in a restaurant or in your vehicle, carrying appendix will allow you to have quick access to your gun without much motion. Thus, allowing you to have a better chance at successfully deploying your pistol in a life and death situation.

PROPER CONCEALMENT

A large number of people who carry concealed fail at the concealment part. Too often people print with the handles of their guns, resulting in drawing unwanted attention by people who are around them. When carrying your gun in an appendix carry holster, you must do a good job at concealment because the gun is in the front and people you will encounter will notice the gun more easily.

In addition, you need to perform regular tasks such as bending over, getting up out of a chair, etc. and fully understand how you need to move in order to perform these tasks while keeping your gun concealed.

NOT FOR EVERYONE

Appendix carry is not for everyone as body types vary and these types of holsters will ride differently on everyone.  There is no one holster fits all solution out there. And, this mode of carry is not something that most people feel is “comfortable”.  Honestly, heavier set people will have a more difficult time with comfort and possibly concealment when carrying this way.
